SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 16.85 g, 5h). Unsigned dies in the style of Phrygillos. Struck circa 413-405 BC. Head of Arethusa left, hair in wide band; four dolphins around / Charioteer, holding torch, driving fast quadriga left; above, Nike flying right, crowning charioteer; in exergue, grain ear left. Tudeer 50a (V17/R30 – this coin); SNG ANS 276 (same rev. die). VF, toned, harshly cleaned. The sole example of this die pair cited by Tudeer.
