THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 460-420 BC. AR Hemidrachm (16mm, 2.92 g, 6h). Thessalos standing right, holding a band with both hands around the forehead of a bull’s forepart leaping right, shrub (lotus ?) before on ground line / Forepart of bridled horse right in shallow incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian p. 139, 27, pl. 42, 40 = BCD Thessaly 374.2 (this coin). Near VF, lightly toned, areas of minor porosity. Very rare type.
