Struck circa 1009-1017. + ÆÐELRÆD •R•EX Λ(NG)L, diademed bust left / + ÆÐEL•PIG ON LIHRΛ, short cross pattée. SCBI 7 (Copenhagen), 508 (same dies); Hild. 1582; BMC –; North 777; SCBC 1154. VF, toned, peck marks. Rare.


The moneyer Æthelwig was one of the two moneyers who struck the extremely rare Agnus Dei type of Æthelred at Leicester.
