ITALY, Venezia (Venice). Andrea Dandolo. Doge, 1342-1354. AV Ducat (19mm, 3.50 g, 10h). Contemporary imitation. S. Marco standing right, presenting banner to Doge kneeling left / Christ Pantokrator standing facing within mandorla containing nine stars. Cf. Papadopoli 1 (for prototype); cf. Paolucci 1 (same). VF, areas of weak strike.

This ducat does not appear to match the issues traditionally attributed to Robert d’Anjou, characterized by a distinct legend, or to the Venetians in the Levant, characterized by the inclusion of Greek letters.
