PLANTAGENET. Henry II. 1154-1189. AR Penny (18mm, 1.22 g, 4h). Cross and Crosslets (Tealby) type; class C1(?). Lundene (London) mint; Martin, moneyer. Struck circa 1163-1167. [+] ҺENRI : R : A, crowned facing bust, holding scepter / [+ M]ARTIN : ON : LVN[ ], cross pattée, with crosslet in angles. SCBI –; BMC 524 var. (mint name); North 956; SCBC 1339. VF, toned.

From the Marshall Faintich Collection (purchased from Lockdales, 21 July 2003).

Although most of the distinguishing characteristics are off the flan, the tuft of hair on the portrait relegates this issue to no earlier than Class C1. As the moneyer Martin is unattested on later issues, it is likely that this is the correct class.
