HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Mihirakula(?). Circa AD 515-540. AR Drachm (23mm, 2.87 g). Crowned bust right; [SAHI JA(?) in Brahmi behind], thunderbolt before / Fire altar with ribbons, attendants flanking (largely indistinct). Alram, Alchon -; Göbl, Dokumente -; CNG E-203, 259. VF, porous, chipped. Rare.

This type appears closest to Göbl’s emissions 140-144, ascribed to Mihirakula or his successors. It is perhaps a well preserved specimen belonging or related to emission 142, which has a symbol tentatively described by Göbl as a trident, or emission 143, featuring an indistinct symbol.
