KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AV Stater (17mm, 8.59 g, 6h). Uncertain mint. Uncertain struck date, probably posthumous issue. Helmeted head of Athena right / Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; torch in left field, KO below left wing, NIKOΔ to inner left. Unpublished, but cf. Price p. 516 = Müller 82 for a tetradrachm with these control marks. Good VF, light scuffs and edge marks from prior mounting. Unique.
