BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Menander II. Circa 90-80 BC. Æ Quadruple Unit (22mm, 8.75 g, 12h). Athena standing left, raising hand in benediction and holding spear and palm; shield resting on ground against right leg / Lion seated right; [mongram] below. Cf. Bopearachchi Série 5C; SNG ANS -. VF, brown patina, fields lightly smoothed. Extremely rare.


Only faint traces of the monogram are visible, but what appears to be an upward diagonal component suggests that it is Bopearachchi’s monogram C.
