Maurice Tiberius. 582-602. Æ Half Follis (19mm, 4.93 g). Constantinople mint. Dated RY 19 (600/1). Crowned and cuirassed facing bust, holding globus cruciger / Large K; cross above, date across fields, B. DOC I 62; MIB II 69D; SB 497. VF, black patina with red earth highlights.

From the Chris Connell Collection.

The Maurice half folles of Constantinople, Nicomedia and Cyzicus are not mint marked, but can be distinguished by style. The engraver of this obverse bust is obviously the same one who did the Constantinople die for DOC 41f.
