SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos II Theos. 261-246 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 17.12 g, 11h). Lysimacheia mint. Diademed head right / BAΣIΛEΩΣ AN-TIOXOY, Apollo, nude, testing arrow in his right hand, left hand holding tip of bow set on ground to right, seated left on omphalos; to outer left, head of male right; in exergue, head of lion right and ΘE monogram. SC 483.6; Le Rider, Lysimachie, Series 2, dies D1/R2; WSM –; HGC 9, 236a; Meydancikkale 2867 (same dies). Lightly toned, minor die wear. VF. Very rare.

The obverse die used for this issue under Antiochos II continued to be used to strike issues at Lysimacheia under Antiochos Hierax (cf. SC 858).
