Anonymous Folles. temp. Nicephorus III, circa 1078-1081. Æ Follis (24mm, 2.64 g, 9h). Contemporary imitation of a Class I issue of Constantinople. Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator / Latin cross with central X, globus and two pellets at the end of each extremity; crescents to upper left and right, floral scroll to lower left and right. Cf. DOC I.1-64 (for original); cf. SB 1889 (same); CNG E-448, lot 575 (for similar imitation). Rough brown surfaces. Good Fine.
