Antoninus Pius. AD 138-161. Æ Sestertius (31.5mm, 22.24 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 141-143. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, laureate head right / MAVRETANIA, S C across field, [COS III] in exergue, Mauretania, wearing elephant-skin headdress, draped, standing left, holding crown in right hand and vexillum in left. RIC III 748; Strack –; Banti 237; BMCRE p. 265, *; RIN 1891, p. 308, 26 . Dark brown and green patina, smoothed, short flan crack. VF. Very rare.
