Vespasian. AD 69-79. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.26 g, 6h). “Judaea Capta” commemorative. Rome mint. Struck circa 21 December AD 69-early 70. IMP CΛESΛR VESPΛSIANVS ΛVG, laureate head right / IVDAEA in exergue, trophy; to right, Judaea, veiled and draped, seated right on ground in attitude of mourning, knees drawn up, head resting in left hand, which is propped on knees. RIC II.1 2; Hendin 6509; RSC 226; BMCRE 35-42; BN 23-5. Deep cabinet tone, small test cut on edge. Good VF.
