THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 150-125 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31.5mm, 16.73 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, crested Corinthian helmet right above MA; monogram below throne. Karayotov I 142–56 (obv. die O49); Callataÿ Group 2, obv. die D2; Price 1082; HGC 3, 1568. Toned, flan crack, delamination on obverse, a few faint scratches. Good VF.
