Isaac Comnenus. Usurper in Cyprus, 1185-1191. Æ Tetarteron (21mm, 1.98 g, 6h). Secondary mint. Struck 1187-1191(?). Christ Pantokrator standing facing; stars or crosses to right / Isaac standing facing, being crowned by the Theotokos. DOC –, but cf. 8; cf. S. Bendall, "Two Rare Byzantine Coins of the Comnenian Dynasty," in NumCirc CIX.5 (October 2005), 2; SB –, but cf. 1998 (for rev.). Dark brown patina, some earthen deposits. Near VF. Extremely rare.
