BRUTTIUM, The Brettii. Circa 208-203 BC. Æ Double Unit – Didrachm (24mm, 9h). Fourth coinage. Helmeted head of Ares left / Athena advancing right, head slightly left, holding shield and spear; uncertain symbol (lyre?) to right. Cf. Scheu, Bronze 60-6 and 67-78; HN Italy 2003. Medium brown patina. In NGC encapsulation 5872733-041, graded Ch VF.
