NORTHWESTERN EUROPE. Pipeclay figurine from a creche set. Circa 1550 AD. (10cm). One of the wisemen with Arabian or African features. He may represent Balthazar (who by the 1300s was depicted as dark skinned). Evidence of burning on part of the piece, minor losses and chips, but largely intact.
