C CAESAR • AVG • GERM • P • M • TR • POT, laureate head of Gaius (Caligula) right / GERMANICVS • CAES • P • C • CAES • AVG • GERM, bare head of Germanicus right. RIC I 18 (Rome); Lyon 172/11a (D –[unlisted obv. die]/R155); RSC 2; BMCRE 19-20 (Rome); BN 28-9. Deep blue-iridescent toning, a few small, faint marks. Choice EF. Well centered and struck on a broad flan. Among the finest known specimens of this historic type.
