CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 290-281 BC. AR Nomos (21.5mm, 7.73 g, 1h). Warrior, holding shield and two spears, preparing to cast a third, on horseback right; ΣIM below / Phalanthos, holding distaff, riding dolphin left; to right, eagle standing left; ΦIΛIΣ to left, waves below. Fischer-Bossert Group 78b, 1065d (V402/R816 – this coin); Vlasto –; HN Italy 933; Boston MFA 63 (same dies); Nanteuil 103 (same dies). Lightly toned, struck with worn obverse die, a couple of light marks on reverse. Good VF.
