Commodus. AD 177-192. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 2.96 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 186. Laureate head right / LIB AVG VI in exergue, distribution scene: Commodus seated left on sella curulis on daïs, extending right hand; on daïs to right, officer standing left; on daïs to left, Liberalitas standing left, holding abacus and cornucopia; at foot of platform to left, citizen standing right on steps, holding out fold of toga with both hands to receive distribution. RIC III 134; MIR 18, 690-4/30; RSC 315. Toned, some deposits. VF. Rare. One of the few times an elaborate distribution scene is depicted on a Denarius.
