Laureate bust right, drapery on left shoulder / Serapis standing facing, head left, wearing kalathos, resting hand on shrine to left and holding long scepter; all within distyle shrine, pediment ornamented with two Nikai on either side of globe; L Δ (date) across field. Köln –; Dattari (Savio) 1957-8; K&G 32.139; RPC III 5245; Emmett 1037.4 (R4). Brown patina, roughness, with spots of green verdigris. Near VF. Very rare, only four recorded in RPC. |
