Theodosius II. AD 402-450. AV Solidus (21mm, 4.50 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck AD 441-450. Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield / Constantinopolis seated left on throne, foot on prow, holding globus cruciger and scepter; shield to right side of throne; star to left; CONOB. RIC X 323; Depeyrot 84/1. Toned, lustrous, spot of obverse die rust, light scratch, deposits. EF. A well detailed reverse die.
