Galerius. AD 305-311. AR Argenteus (18.5mm, 3.29 g, 12h). Serdica mint, 5th officina. Struck AD 305-306. Laureate head right / City gate with three turrets, no doors; •SM•SDЄ•. RIC 11b; Gautier, Argent 35; RSC 228†a. Lightly toned, lustrous, a couple of minor die breaks. Superb EF. Very rare. Other than by the portrait style, there is no way the distinguish this issue from that of Maximianus (RIC 1b; Gautier, Argent 23; RSC 627a).
