ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. Circa 450-375 BC. AR Tetartemorion(?) (5mm, 0.27 g). Head of Attis right, wearing Phrygian headdress / Incuse square. Unpublished in the standard references. Toned, some deposits. Near VF.

There is a similar issue that has appeared on the market, but the coins are struck on a broad and thin flan with a quadripartite incuse square (cf. CNG E-213, lot 151). That issue could plausibly be a silver fraction of Kyzikos, where this obverse type was among those used on their electrum coinage. The present coin, with a squat, thick flan with a rough incuse square, is likely unrelated to those.
