Duillius’ Victory at Myle (“First Punic War”): naval battle between the Romans and Carthaginians; in the foreground, Roman soldiers board a Carthaginian vessel; dated 492 (262 BC) in exergue / Rostral Column of Duillius (“For the Maritime Empire”): rostral column with oars, battle standards, and a ram stands before sea.
