Diademed head right, wearing aegis around neck / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; A to left. CPE 255 (same dies as illustration); Svoronos –; SNG Copenhagen –; H. Gitler & C. Lorber, “Small silver coins of Ptolemy I” in INJ 14 (2002), 2a–b (same dies). Deeply toned, traces of find patina, light scuff at edge on reverse. Good VF. Extremely rare, only three noted in CPE, none in PCO, and only one additional in CoinArchives (Roma E-109, lot 521); all struck from the same die pair. |
