GERMANY, Anhalt (Margrafschaft). Albrecht der Bär. 1123-1170. AR Bracteate (26mm, 0.90 g). Wegeleben, Ballenstedt, or Aschersleben mint. Armored full length figure of Albrecht standing facing between two towers, holding banner in right hand and shield in left; to upper right, square surrounded by four annulets / Incuse of obverse. Kestner supp. 2899; Bonhoff 541; Löbbecke 398. Wonderful cabinet toning. Superb EF.
