JEWELRY. Roman. 3rd – 5th Cent. CE. (38 mm long). Gold and Green Glass. A pair of gold loop earrings with a small amulet made up of gold and green glass beads. The wire loop shows commonality in shape and form of the clasp with late work. Evidence shows that wire was both twisted and pulled. The pendants are all mounted on a central wire core, workmanship shows clean soldering, file work and very pleasant design in mind by workshop. Minor “rusting patinas” show in spots. |
