Crowned facing bust, holding scepter / + ROG[IЄR O]N EXCES, cross pattée, with crosslet in angles. Cf. BMC 269 (for type); cf. North 952-61; cf. SCBC 1337-42 (same); R.P.V. Brettell Collection (Glendining, 28 October 1970), lot 314 (same dies). Old cabinet toning. Fine. Clear mint and moneyer, however the diagnostic drapery is poorly struck on both this and the die matched example. |
