AKARNANIA, Leukas. Circa 470-450 BC. AR Stater (19mm, 8.63 g, 10h). Pegasos flying left / Helmeted head of Athena right in linear square within incuse square. Pegasi 1 (same dies as illustration); BCD Akarnania –; HGC 4, 810 (same dies as illustration). Lightly toned, trace deposits, a few cleaning marks, minor edge split. VF. From the very rare first issue of staters at Leukas, signified by the linear border on the reverse.
