THRACE, Hadrianopolis. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ 26mm (10.95 g). Laureate head right / Decorated facade of the three-storied Nymphaeum of Hadrianopolis with statues in each alcove and a figure of a reclining river-god at fountain below (barely discernable); at either side in foreground, columned edifice surmounted by equine statue. Varbanov-; Mouchmov -; cf. Price and Trell fig. 69 (Septimius Severus). Fine, green patina, a little rough. Very rare.
