UNITED STATES. 1807. AR Half Dollar (33mm, 13.30 g, 6h). Draped Bust type. Philadelphia mint; engraved by Robert Scott. Dated 1807. Draped bust of Liberty right / Heraldic eagle. Breen 4593. Good VF, lightly toned, two very short, thin scratches obverse center, and a few more very light scratches will probably keep it from an EF grade; still a very attractive type coin.

Note that the edge lettering, “FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR” has no ornaments between the words. This is true only on this date for this type, although it continues thru 1836 on the capped bust type.
