Q. Sicinius and C. Coponius. 49 BC. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.91 g). Diademed head of Apollo right; star below / Club of Hercules surmounted by a lion's scalp right; arrow at left, bow at right. Crawford 444/1a; CRI 3; Sydenham 939; Sicinia 1. VF, toned.

This was part of a large issue of coinage by two supporters of Pompey who had fled Rome on Caesar's approach to the city. The S C on the reverse was an attempt to show legitimacy for the coinage via the Senate, but this could only apply to those Pompeian senators who had also fled Rome.
