MARK ANTONY & OCTAVIA. 39 BC. AR Cistophoric Tetradrachm (28mm, 11.91 g). Ephesus mint. Conjoined busts of Antony and Octavia right / Dionysus standing left on cista between entwining snakes. RPC I 2202; CRI 263; Sydenham 1198; RSC 3. Near VF, small pit on reverse lightly smoothed.

This coin celebrates the marriage of Mark Antony and Octavia. The reverse type notes Antony's being made the "New Dionysos", an honor granted to him on his arrival in Ephesus in 41 BC.
