CILICIA, Epiphaneia. Severus Alexander. 222-235 AD. Æ 33mm (19.55 g). Dated year 298 [Epiphaneia Era] (230/1 AD). Diademed and draped bust right / Zeus seated left on wheeled throne, holding Nike on globe and sceptre; being drawn by two captives. SNG Levante -; SNG France -; SNG von Aulock -; BMC -; SNG Copenhagen -. Nice Fine, brown and green patina. Evidently a very rare type for Severus Alexander. The type is recorded for Mamaea (see SNG Levante 1823).
