SICILY, Syracuse. Dionysios I. 405-367 BC. AR Hemidrachm (15mm, 2.06 g). Struck circa 405-395 BC. Head of Athena, head turned slightly left, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet; surrounded by four dolphins / Charioteer driving quadriga left; above, Nike flying right, crowning charioteer; two dolphins in exergue. Cf. Boehringer, Finanzpolitik, pg. 15; SNG ANS 312; SNG Copenhagen 674. Good VF, darkly toned, surfaces a bit rough.
