LYDIA, Sardes. Severus Alexander. 222-235 AD. Æ 25mm (5.61 g). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / EPI NEIKOMAX CARDIANWN [...] PAFIH, temple of Aphrodite of Paphos consisting of a central portico flanked by two tall towers with a semicircular enclosure paved with tiles; sacred stone between two towers with crescent and star above; two columns surmounted by doves on either side, two torches on outside. Cf. BMC Lydia pg. 256, 134 (same reverse type for Hadrian); SNG Copenhagen -; SNG von Aulock -; Lindgren I -; Weber -; McClean -. Near VF, rough green patina. Apparently unrecorded.
