PHILIP I. 244-249 AD. Æ Sestertius (29mm, 18.66 g). Struck 248 AD. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Octastyle temple, statue of Roma within. RIC IV 164; Cohen 201. Good VF, green patina, surfaces a little rough.

The reverse type may be the Temple of Venus and Rome which Hadrian designed, located on the Via Sacra between the Forum and Colosseum. The type is one of the many issued to commemorate the millenium of the founding of Rome.
