MARK ANTONY and OCTAVIAN. 39 BC. AR Quinarius (15mm, 1.56 g). Military mint travelling with Octavian in Gaul. Diademed and veiled head of Concord right / Clasped hands holding caduceus. Crawford 529/4b; CRI 304; Sydenham 1195; RSC 67 (Antony). VF.

From the Tony Hardy Collection.

This issue was struck by Octavian, but gives prominence to Antony's name. Sear speculates that the basis of this unprecendented move on Octavian's part was that it was issued during the second triumviratal period while Octavian was in territory that had recently been under the firm control of Antony.
