PTOLEMAIC KINGS of EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphos. 285-246 BC. AV Pentadrachm (17.81 gm, 12h). Obverse die signed by the artist D. Alexandria mint. Diademed bust of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis; small D behind ear / BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU, eagle standing left on thunderbolt; ST and monogram to left. Svoronos 367 = Mionnet VI pg. 2, 6; BMC Ptolemies -; cf. SNG Copenhagen 106. EF, light die rust, light graffiti in reverse field. Extremely rare, only three specimens cited by Svoronos. ($6000)
