NERO, as Caesar. 50-54 AD. Æ Dupondius (30mm, 15.58 gm). Uncertain Thracian mint, perhaps Perinthus. Bare headed and draped bust left / Simpulum and lituus above tripod and patera. RIC I 107 (Claudius - same dies); RPC I -; RPC I Suppl. -; see Triton II, lot 803 for another specimen. Fine, brown patina, fields smoothed. Extremely rare, only a few traceable examples!
