SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Laodicea ad Mare. Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Tetradrachm (26.5mm, 12.57 g, 12h). Dated year 171 (AD 124/5). Laureate and cuirassed bust right, with gorgoneion on breastplate / Turreted and draped bust of Tyche right; AOP (date) below chin. Prieur 1110; RPC III 3806/6 (this coin cited; Finarte Casa D’Aste 995 provenance is in error). Toned, roughness, old cleaning scratches on the obverse, flan flaw on the reverse. VF. Extremely rare, only four noted by Prieur, and five in CoinArchives. Nine examples cited by the authors of RPC, including this coin.
