SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Tetradrachm (23mm, 14.63 g, 6h). Struck AD 109/110. Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; club to left / Laureate bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion’s skin tied around neck. Prieur 1514 (Tyre; this coin); McAlee 459; RPC III 3536/8 (this coin cited and illustrated). VF, toned, some granularity. Very rare, only six known to Prieur, four in CoinArchives, and fourteen specimens cited by the authors of RPC, including this coin.
