SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Gordian III. AD 238-244. AR Tetradrachm (28.5mm, 11.79 g, 12h). Struck AD 241-244. Laureate and cuirassed bust left, holding spear over shoulder with right hand; shield decorated with gorgoneion over left arm / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wreath in beak and wings spread; between legs, crescent above ram, with head right, springing left. Prieur 300 (this coin); McAlee 885 (this coin illustrated). VF, find patina, porosity. Extremely rare, only two examples known to Prieur, and one on CoinArchives.
