ISLANDS off THRACE, Lemnos. Hephaistia. Circa third century BC. Æ 11mm (1.51 gm). Helmeted head of Athena left / HFAI, caduceus flanked by caps of the Dioscuri surmounted by stars. Winterthur 1277. Fine, dark green patina. Extremely rare; the Winterthur piece is the only published specimen.

It is possible that this type was struck during the early Roman period, when the same reverse type appeared on Imbros (see RPC I 1736-7).
