The Triumvirs. Octavian. 35/4 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.86 g, 6h). Spanish or northern Italian or mint traveling with Octavian in Illyricum. Bare head right / Round shield with three concentric rows of studs and central boss. CRI 392; RIC I 543a; BMCRE 309-312 = BMCRR Gaul 119-122; RSC 126. VF, gray and gold toning, minor porosity, a couple of marks on Octavian’s cheek beneath the toning. Rare.
