EASTERN EUROPE, Imitations of Roman Republican. Geto-Dacians. After 83 BC. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 3.33 g, 4h). Imitating obverse of L. Torquatus, reverse of Q. Antonius Balbus. Head of Roma right, X (mark of value) below chin; all within decorated torque / Victory, holding palm frond, driving quadriga right; pseudo-legend in exergue. Davis Class A, Group II, M113 (this coin). For prototype: cf. Crawford 295/1 (obv.) and 364/1b (rev.). Near VF, lightly toned, off center on reverse.
