Glazed ceramic cylinder seal. Syrian, Mitanni, circa 14th-13th centuries BC. Common-style engraving of two bearded men, each standing on a recumbent ibex, flanking a standing ibex. One man holds the Pleiades, the other the sun. To the left, a third bearded man stands between two quadrupeds, all above another recumbent ibex.
Height: 26mm. Chip at bottom. A very complex scene. See Ashmolean 939-942 for similar.
