[Farouk]. B. Max Mehl Sale 111. A Royal Sale, Farouk I, King of Egypt, and the Dr. Christian Allenberger and Dr. H. Russell Renz Collections. (March 23, 1948). 311 pages, 4688 lots, prices realized list bound in. Contemporary red cloth binding with gilt lettering. Although this catalogue is referred to as the King Farouk Sale, the Farouk consignment is only a small consignment to this important sale. According the Adams, the Dr. Allenberger consignments is rated A- or better in six categories; half cents, large cents, patterns, proofs, early and late silver, and gold. Also, the Russell Renz consignment, specialized in paper money and fractional currency is also rated A by Adams. Overall a nice fine copy, the catalog itself is near VF, the binding is fine, and the bound prices realized are a bit marked.
