IONIA, Ephesus. Statilia Messalina. Augusta, AD 66-68. Æ (21mm, 7.22 g, 12h). Struck under Nero, AD 65-66. MECCAΛINAN, draped bust right / EΦECIΩN PΩ-MH, Roma standing facing, head right, holding scepter and statue of Artemis Ephesia. RPC Supp. II 2632 note (this coin cited); CNG E-212, lot 179 (misdescribed as Messalina [wife of Claudius]; same dies). Near VF, rough green patina. An extremely rare variant, and likely the second (and better) known.
